My interaction with People & Places felt very personal from the start, dealing with Kate regularly by e-mail and occasionally by phone.  My placement was turned round quickly in less than two months.  Originally I had chosen a different project in the Gambia via the People & Places website and Kate was very honest about the pros and cons of this placement which left me concerned about the remoteness of the location and as a result I ended up changing projects.  In hindsight this was definitely the right decision and I am very grateful for Kate’s honesty.
